Inaugural Karwendel Music Festival Showcases Global Excellence
With the support of the Alpenwelt Karwendel, the Karwendel Music Festival opened on August 8, 2016, bringing together 10 internationally acclaimed artists and 18 fellows from seven countries across four continents. Over the course of 14 days, the festival delivered a dynamic program of concerts, workshops, masterclasses, lectures, and panel discussions. Select evening performances were live-streamed via the Karwendel Music Festival website and Karwendel TV, extending the festival’s global reach beyond the concert hall.
Young Virtuoso Awarded Prestigious Thomassin Bow
In partnership with Stephan Jansen Fine Bows, the 2016 Karwendel Music Festival proudly recognized 12-year-old violinist Yixuan Ren as its Outstanding Festival Participant. In acknowledgment of her exceptional artistry and promise, she was awarded the exclusive use of a €20,000 Claude Thomassin violin bow for one year—an honor that underscores both her remarkable talent and the festival’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of distinguished musicians.
